Pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood are ancient rites of passage.
Historically, these experiences were honored and supported by a village of wise women, healers, and mentors. Now, our modern passage into this sacred space is filled with social judgement, pejorative medical terminology, and shame.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
You can heal your birth story and step into this new phase of motherhood with support and guidance.
By processing your birthing experience through Birth Story Medicine, you can make shifts in your own heart and mind, free yourself from emotional pain associated with your birth experience, and move toward healing.
How does it work?
Birth Story Medicine is an expertly guided conversation focused on healing your relationship with your birth experience through compassionate listening.
During our 60 minute session, you will have the opportunity to tell your birth story in a new way. Rather than focusing on the medical highlights or the socially acceptable details, we dive into the moments that were most meaningful to you - the ones that shaped how you currently feel about your birthing experience.
Through empathetic listening and intuitively guided questions, we plant seeds for healing together and create a custom, lasting perspective shift which can reach far beyond birth and ripple throughout your life.
Who can benefit from Birth Story Medicine?
Anyone who has given birth* or attended a birth can benefit. This process is about changing your relationship with a childbirth experience by exploring what feels unresolved, unsettled or difficult for you.
*Miscarriage, abortion, and stillbirth are also considered birth experiences which deserve to be honored and processed through this technique.
The Birth Story Listening method was developed by Pam England, Founder of Birth Story Medicine.
